Flavored Flour Tortillas with Cheese Dip

  • 1 package flour tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cups oil set aside 1 tablespoon
  • 2 teaspoons fajita seasoning
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 can Hormel chili
  • 1 jalapeno pepper rondelle cuts
  • 1 package shredded cheddar and monterey jack cheese


  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Using a cutting board, stack flour tortillas on top of one another. Cut tortillas into small rectangular shapes.
  • In a medium sized sauce pot, add oil until hot.
  • Add a tablespoon of oil into the palms of your hands and toss onto tortillas until lightly coated.
  • Add fajita seasoning or whichever flavor you prefer. (Salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic or onion powder can be used as well to add more flavor.)
  • Once oil is heated, fry seasoned tortillas until golden brown. (This step should take seconds.) Place on a paper towel lined baking sheet to absorb the oil.
  • In a 9x13” baking dish, spread cream cheese evenly inside the baking dish, add chili on top of cream cheese, add jalapeno peppers, lastly add shredded cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Add cheese to a bowl. Center the bowl onto a plate and place seasoned tortillas around the plate.
