Hash Brown Breakfast Sandwich

  • 4 medium sized Russet potatoes shredded and rinsed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • eggs scrambled
  • bacon cookied


  • In a large mixing bowl, add shredded potatoes, flour, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, pepper, cheddar cheese and egg. (if it is not sticking together, add a little more flour)
  • Mix until well combined.
  • Using a large serving spoon, scoop potato mixture and shape with hands into a round or oval somewhat thin shape. (your preference) Shape remaining hash browns.
  • Heat oil and butter in a skillet. Once heated, add three to four hash browns to the skillet.
  • Fry until golden brown in color on both sides.
  • Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel lined baking sheet.
  • Cook eggs and bacon to your liking. Set aside.
  • Using one hash brown, add eggs and bacon. Top with another hash brown to make your breakfast sandwich.
